DATE:July 16, 2020BY:Little Pilea

Zamioculcas Zamiifolia, known as the ZZ plant or Zanzibar Gem, is native to the semi-arid regions of Eastern Africa. The plant is a quiet hero of your indoor plant collection. It tolerates neglect, drought condition and low-light condition. ZZ plant is also an air purifier according to a NASA study, which makes it a perfect choice for your bedroom.

Most plants will do best in moderate to bright indirect light. ZZ plant will also do fine in extremely low light condition.

Since ZZ Plant is like a cactus, the less water the better. Water your ZZ Plant with soft or distilled water only when the soil is dry, usually every 7-14 days depending on the indoor climate and lighting conditions. Let the water drain through the bottom, then allow to dry out completely between waterings.

This plant is fine with average home humidity. It can even tolerate dry air.

Temperature between 60°F-85°F, perhaps average home temperature.

During spring and summer, you can feed your plant a diluted general houseplant fertilizer (at half strength) every month to promote growth and healthy leaves.

Please alway take extra caution and keep houseplants out of reach of children and pets.

Most of the problems are caused by too much water and soggy soil. Other than that, ZZ plant is tough enough to withstand almost neglect from their owners
